The exhibition Attraverso i diluvi, presented by Collezione Maramotti, is a group show that explores the theme of catastrophe, drawing from the Collection's own vast archive. Many of the works on display, some of them previously unseen for this space, are flanked for the first time by masterpieces of art from the past, on loan from prestigious Italian and international institutions.
With more than fifty works spanning from the 12th century B.C. to 2024, the exhibition offers an unprecedented and synchronous look at catastrophes, both human and natural, proposing connections between images from different eras. Through this visual dialogue, Attraverso i diluvi ("Through the floods") not only reflects on devastating experiences over the centuries, but also reveals the evolution of sensibility and perception of disasters over time.
