Primo Marella Gallery is pleased to share Samuel Nnorom's solo exhibition at Saatchi Gallery: Multitude or Minority.
Samuel Nnorom’s sculptures are carefully crafted from offcuts of Ankara fabric, a wax-printed textile originally from Indonesia and later introduced to Africa through Dutch colonialism. His work reimagines the bubble as a symbol of collective survival, connection, and aspiration, woven, stitched, and assembled into intricate formations of bubbles, bundles, and ribboned strips. Nnorom’s use of this salvaged fabric highlights the complex history of global trade and its influence on identity, shedding light on the interconnectedness of cultures. The exhibition showcases both new and earlier works by Nnorom.
